Ivory was rather pleased. In the ships' low monologue, in the cool press of the commanding chair against her back, in the low thrum of the engine... it all felt, simply, right. The diamond shape of her ship glowed a soft pale pink against the atmosphere of the blue planet, of which it was swiftly approaching. Idly, she played with her hair, smiling softly at the implications of where they were headed. She had not seen the gems originating from this planet, and she was excited to get to work. Her collection was waiting...
It was time to reactivate the Kindergarten and put it to proper work.
"Where is the holo-lens with my documents and planet data? Bring it to me."
A short Pearl with wild hair quickly brought the thin lens to her, and she took it, dismissing the gem without a word. A swift glance-over later and she set the clear instrument on the arm of her chair. No fuss so far...
The ship entered the planet's atmosphere with a harsh groan and she sighed, staring idly at the green-hued flames that pushed against the outer hull of her ship futilely, as if to keep her away. Did it have to be so loud? Ivory started to call out swift but calm orders, directing the ship towards the Kindergarten, and soon enough dark looming walls of stone and earth, jagged and sharp against the green of the land around it shot up towards the bottom of the ship. Steam hissed hotly around the diamond shape as it started to land.
Morganite glanced towards the sky on top of the lighthouse. They squinted and shield their eyes from the sun and caught a glimpse of the ship moving towards earth. Fluorite is not here on a solo mission and iolite is who knows where. Morganite watched as it came closer and guessed that it was heading for Kindergarten. They have to act fast and act now. Should they go?
It was too slow to walk all the way down the stairs and reach the warppad. They leapt from the top floor and ran inside, stepping on the pad and on to Kindergarden.
It was sort of like holding your breathe for a split second and there you were, warped into a ray of blue hues and light. It was amazing how fast you could get somewhere. They came just in time for the ship to land and ready for whatever was awaiting inside.
The pink diamond-shaped ship landed with a sound of finality, a dock extending smoothly to press into the ashy earth of the Kindergarten. Air hissed out of the compressed lock as the door slid open, melding into the wall. Three small pearls were the first to enter earth's humid atmosphere, blinking against the sun rays and shielding their eyes as they cleaned the deck and made various scans. They were jittery and nervous, staring around warily.
Next, came Ivory. She stepped out elegantly onto the smooth platform and breathed deep, sighing with a light, delighted laugh. "Pearls, dears, isnt this wonderful?" she hummed in a smooth, soft voice. "Oh, the gems we will make...." One of them jolted in apprehension at her voice.
The gem flinched as the air hissed and moaned from the door. They slide right behind a gem artifact and watched from the shadows to determine if these gems were friend or foe. By the looks of it, the taller one was the superior one of the bunch, how she made the other gems cower in fear from her.
Morganite concentrated and took a deep breath before summoning their gem weapon, dual disc. They crouched lower and moved in closer to get a better hear of them. What are they planning on doing here. Do they want to reactivate this place again? Think of all the gems that have been made here, including you. Earth is better off without any more of them.
Ivory clasped her hands together in a singular excited moment before letting out a long breath, smiling broadly. "Where is the command center?"
"Ma'm," one pearl said nervously, tapping away on a hologram in a fervent manner. "Th- the command center seems to be destroyed, we cannot create a link with it, and it does not seem to have to do with being ancient tech," she said, and Ivory frowned at her, stiffening. "Destroyed? By who?" The Pearl flinched and shrugged nervously.
Suddenly a small, lean blade was sticking out through Ivory's arm, and she blinked, looking down at it. One of the pearls stood trembling, the duo of the blade in hand. "Ivory i cannot let you take this world," she said.
Instead of acting in anger, the white gem merely sighed, grasping the blade and pulling it out. Her gem glowed, and in a swift movement she pulled out a long bone staff, setting the sharp end into the ground, "I had hoped none of my pearls were going to be this way..." And suddenly she was right before the gem, reaching out with a delicate, pale hand, and the pearl squealed as that had wrapped around her throat, where her gem was. Only a moment later there was a terrible CRACK and the gem's body, expression frozen in pain and mortal terror, disappeared in a burst of white smoke. In Ivory's hand, the cracked form of what had once been the now-dead pearl's gem.
Ivory turned around and smiled as if nothing had happened. "Back to work! Find the command center directly." she hummed, slipping the broken gem into the sleeve of her shirt.
Morganite stopped right in their tracks and looked pale when sound of the gem being cracked reached them. They fell back into the shadows and waited. How disgusting. How can she disrespect her gem kin like that?
Their gem on their hand glowed and their weapon retreated back. Morganite slowly got to their feet to try to find the command center before the homeworld gem could. If only Fluorite were here, she could have found it in a matter of a few seconds.
Ivory sighed sadly. It would take a while before they would find anything. And even then, the repairs... She sighed again, gem glowing as her weapon faded. "I think ill go on a walk and explore this little planet my dear pearls. I expect you to find it by the time i have gotten back." She said smoothly, and they nodded, working ever diligently.
And with that, Ivory turned and set of at an easy pace away from the Kindergarten. "I wonder what a human looks like..." she chuckled, smiling happily.
"Oh well-- Ma'm has gone off to-- to, scout, for enemy gems, yes-- and you seem to have done well, seeing as this is where i have tracked it to..." she coughed and fidgeted, glancing behind them at the hole. Her fingers tapped rapidly on a hologram. "I do not but it must be where the control room is but i am confused... it should not be in this state,"
